This year we are collecting money in aid of the Papworth Trust. We will be raising money by selling raffle tickets but also collecting donations.
Papworth Trust
The Papworth Trust is a medium sized Charity who are based in East Anglia. They supply housing to those who are in need and assist disabled people within the community. They assist a broad spectrum of people with disabilities, however, a lot of their work is focused on people with mental disability.
Our Goals
We would like to raise £2000 to put towards a new kitchen within the Cambridge premises. The kitchen will be used to teach people with learning disabilities to cook safe healthy food.
As well as raising money we would like to work with some people with learning disabilities with a view to offering them some employment. A similar scheme was set up in Canterbury Punting Company, who offer shifts to some of the patrons of a Kent based Charity (KWDSG).
How to take part
Raffle tickets will soon be available to purchase from our check-in desk on the quayside.
The prizes
We hope that people will take part satisfied that 100% of their money will be going towards a good cause. As it’s a raffle we do of course have some prizes which have been generously donated by local businesses. Here is the list;
A Tea Pot from Country Traditionals (based very close to us)
Lunch for two at Bridges café (also really close to us)
Tickets to Shepreth Wildlife Park
A voucher to spend at the Punter Pub
A £50 voucher to spend at Ian Stevens (Ian is based close to us and he makes traditional leather products like belts and bags)
A box of delicious box of Fudge from the Fudge Kitchen
A 75cl bottle of Miraval Cotes de Provence is being donated by the Cambridge Wine Merchants (great place to get a drink for your punt ride, ID will be required to win this Prize)
