Valentines Day Blind Date Punt Blind Date winners go for a punt

Last week we launched a competition for single people in Cambridge to go for a blind date on a private punt tour with ourselves.

There was some last-minute drama, but it all worked out perfectly in the end.

A guy called Alex entered the competition, and we had a date lined up for him. The punting was due to take place yesterday lunchtime, but we were unable to contact the original lady who’d entered.

Romance on the river

We notified Alex, but instead of getting disheartened, he asked if he could bring someone else along instead. He’s recently started working at Ashton’s solicitors in Cambridge, and he thought he’d take the opportunity to ask his colleague, Jess, out on a date.

They came along after work, and Alex brought a large umbrella to fend off the rain. The potential lovebirds got on well and went to La Mimosa restaurant afterwards.

Ashley, the owner of Scholars Punting Cambridge, took them on the tour and said: “I couldn’t hear much with the wind and rain under the umbrella, however by the end of the tour he had his arm around her. I think there may have been some potential kissing as well. Both hit it off and will go for a second date.”

If you’d like to get cosy with your better half, why not book a romantic punt tour today?
