What is punting
Punting is a traditional method of navigating the shallow chalk stream rivers of England, a punt is a traditional flat bottomed craft that can be moved around the waterways using a long pole pushing along the bed of the river. They have been used to transport supplies, for fishing, eel catching and hunting and it wasn’t until more recent times that punting was adopted as a pastime.

What is a punting gift voucher?
A punting experience gift voucher is simply a way of gifting this fantastic experience to someone be it for a birthday or Christmas present it makes a great gift that can be ordered online. Your voucher will be sent by post in a gift card for you to pass on.
The gift voucher entitles up to 3 people to take a punt tour with a guide on one of our scheduled punting tours, this is the cheaper option currently set at £40. Alternatively, you can book the private tour option for up to 6 people which costs £125.
Where can I get a punting gift voucher?
A punting experience gift voucher can be ordered online via our website at Scholars Punting Cambridge just select the Punting experience tab on the menu fill in the form and once your payment has been verified you will receive an email confirming the purchase. Your voucher will arrive in the post a few days later so please allow a few days from purchasing the punting voucher before you plan to make your gift.

When can the voucher be used?
The voucher can be used all year for a shared tour on one of our guided punt tours that run on the hour and half-hourly throughout the day from January to December. Punting is a great experience suitable for all ages in any season but wrap up warm in winter and check the weather forecast as you will need suitable attire on rainy days.
In winter months we do operate on reduced hours as the daylight allows and if weather is extreme we will offer to change or move your Punting experience booking. If restrictions due to Covid prevent us from operating you will also have the option to reschedule or cancel your punting experience voucher and receive a full refund.
What you will receive
You will receive an email confirmation of your voucher purchase and a few days later you will receive a printed voucher from Scholars punting Cambridge in a gift card ready to be sent to your loved one.
