Should I take my baby punting?

Punting can be enjoyed by everyone of all ages. Your baby may not appreciate the historic scenery, but it will enjoy the calming flow of the river and clean air. It is very common for customers who are pregnant or have a baby to come and enjoy a chauffeured tour of the river.

Do I need a life jacket?

Whilst life jackets are available on request, it is rare that passengers wear them. The boats are very stable, punts have only capsized in rare circumstances such as overloading or extreme river conditions.

How much does it cost to take my baby on a punt tour?

Babies under 1 year old can be added on top of the passenger number as long as there is only one. As most tours are now sold per row of three seats, then there are no concession or child rates.

Does a baby count as a passenger?

When selecting a private Cambridge punting tour you cannot exceed the maximum number of 12 passengers. A baby who is under the age of 12 months doesn’t count towards this quota. The exception to this is when you have more than one baby, two babies count as one passenger.
